Cops & Goodbyes

Monday night we had the craziest missionary opportunity!!!!!!

Get this. Pday ends last Monday at 6. Sister Rush and I are the last set of missionaries that left the stake center. There is a long driveway to enter/ leave the church. Walking towards us, as we are leaving, is a man. THEN, we met Don. We rolled down the window and asked if he needed help. To shorten things up, he had been walking around homeless for 2 days and was looking for someone who had resources to a homeless shelter. He thought our church would have something for him. We told him we could call the cops and make sure he got the resources he needed. While we were on the line waiting for non-emergency help, he asked us lots of questions! It was a really cool opportunity to share a message with him and provide him comfort. We gave him a Book of Mormon and 2 pamphlets in hopes he would find those helpful. After the police got there, we told him to contact us if he was interested then we left. 20 minutes later we got a text from Don saying he wanted to know more!!!

It was also my last full week with Sister Rush. She leaves on Wednesday for a departing trip that our mission hosts and then she will fly home on Friday! Which is sad for me but so happy for her family. I will be put with a random companion or be in a trio for a couple days then I will pick up a new companion on Friday!!! I will definitely miss Sister Rush. I am very grateful for all she has done for me and taught me. I still need lots of help haha so Im looking forward to more learning opportunities with a new companion. So pumped to welcome whoever my new comp is to Cottage Lake and introduce them to all my cute friends here :))

With Sister Rush leaving this week, we had lots of going away parties with the members! It was so fun to be taken out to eat for basically every meal and celebrate the awesome mission she has had!!! One of the old ladies told her, "I probably wont see you again in this life. But when you come through the veil, I'll be waiting in line to see you." Then obviously both of us are crying. I hate cute old ladies!!!!!

On friday, we went on an excursion to Auburn for some medical records that Sister Rush needed before heading home! Which gave us the opportunity to go on a drive, see more of Washington, pretend wave at my missionary friends serving near that area, and do a little window shopping for fun ;) also picked up a phat package my mom sent me! (Shoutout Kstew for being THE BEST EVER, and I guess Dave too... for sending me voice recordings of him attempting to sing me to sleep... im so lucky)

What a crazy wonderful week!!! Beyond grateful for my experiences in the mission so far. First transfer down baby!

Catch yall next week with a new comp
