You've Got A Friend In Me

Hey!!!

The past couple weeks have been pretty interesting to be honest. I've learned a lot! Here is a spark notes version️ of some vulnerable things that have been weighing heavy on my heart and on my mind.

As I've been struggling with a couple things, my freakin awesome companion, Sister Hanni, has been a wonderful support. She read to me a really good children's book. It's called "You Are Special" by Max Lucado. The book is highlighting the importance of spending time with our maker and growing in Him to learn and to care more for what matters to Him than what matters to this world. It shows that as the main character got closer to Eli (He represents God), the less the things of this world would be aligned with him or stuck with him.

It does not matter what people think of you. What matters is what our creator thinks of us. When our focus is truly on what our creator thinks of us, then what everyone else thinks doesn't carry weight on us anymore. Easier said than done of course.

A lesson I've had to learn over and over again throughout my life is that when I feel isolated, alone or maybe judged. There is one person who ALWAYS is a true friend. That's where my testimony continues to stand most strong!

JESUS CHRIST IS MY FRIEND. He is your friend. He is the perfect example of how we should BE a friend. Be forgiving! Be understanding. Be gentle. Listen. Walk and talk with our friends. Be loyal....and much, much more.

There is something profoundly moving about treating each of God's children with the same love and respect that He offers us.

These experiences bring to mind Mosiah 5:13 from the Book of Mormon: "For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?" The truth in these words is undeniable – by serving and loving unconditionally, especially those who may be overlooked or misunderstood, we draw closer to our Heavenly Father. Strengthening our testimony and deepening our understanding of God's love requires active service and a commitment to seeing His children through His eyes.

I'm not a perfect person. Hey! Aren't we all. The adversary has been working hard on me. To make me feel like I am not good enough and to make me feel like I am alone.

I will be forever grateful WE have a maker who sent His son, Jesus Christ to cover what we cannot. To help us change and walk us through it all. May each of us make an extra effort to come closer to the one that matters most, my dearest friend, Jesus Christ!
