Weep Near Jesus
What up fam!
This week was awesome. It was slower than most. We had a couple days where a ton of our plans fell through but we made the best of it!!
I LOVE PEOPLE! Burien has so many humble people... with a few nut jobs mixed in there but the majority is good, humble people. This week we had many sweet women crying to us while expressing the hardship they are experiencing in their lives.
One woman fed us a huge cambodian meal. It was delicious. She started to cry as she fed us and then told us how happy it makes her to be able to cook for others. When she was young, her mother was single and lost her job while they were still living in Cambodia. They were very very poor but she said her mom always made sure that they had food. She expressed so much gratitude for her mother and everything she has!
My mission has been so good for me to really remember how blessed I am. Not that I wasnt grateful before but even more so now!!! I am really blessed with SO MUCH!!! the best family, good friends, a roof over my head, food, transportation, and much more which is easy to say but it has become much more real as I am surrounded by people who do not that have that.
A quote I loved this week:
"If youre weeping, weep near Jesus"
John 20:15-16
15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master
Mary Magdalene was mourning her friend Jesus. Instead of weeping in her home, she wept as close as she could to Christ. She wept near his tomb.
This story makes me think of the sweet women we've been helping. THEY ARE SO GOOD. Their temporal needs are heavy but yet they turn their lives to Jesus and weep near him. I have a thing or two to learn from their strong faith.
ALSO GUESS WHAT
Omg there's about 3 months until im home see u soon boys. Thats all for this week
Peace
