Seek And Ye Shall Find

Happy Monday! I had a busy but awesome week!!

Monday and Tuesday are always easy!

On Wednesday we were on exchange. Sister Miles came here and has served in Sammamish too so it was another day full of reunions! So fun!!!!!!

Thursday we had zone conference pretty much all day! I love meetings because we get to see half the mission. Plus, I always learn so much.

Friday we helped out at a youth temple day for the stake. They had food trucks for the youth outside the temple. It was awesome! We helped with hot chocolate and stickers. We also got to see my bff Paulina and hangout with her for a bit that night. She is hilarious and knows how to have fun.

Saturday was SO GOOD!!! We got to drive back to Burien for Sarith's baptism! I love my (almost blind) Cambodian friend. He is so good. It was an amazing experience to be there from the beginning of his journey and see how the gospel has blessed his life! What a special day!

Sunday we had interviews with President and stake conference. My muslim friend Kareem came to Sammamish. We answered a ton of questions he has. Although, this time it was a little sad. Normally our studies with him are always open minded on both sides. However, this time he was more defensive. Something I have loved about our studies in the past is how much we have learned from one another. I truly believe there is much to be learned about God from other religions. The different way people worship is a beautiful way to learn more about God's character. Kareem is a very intellectual man with very deep questions. Which makes our studies quite challenging because I don't know everything. I have put a lot of effort into studying different topics and sending him my thoughts on the subjects to help him learn more about what we believe. It is not frustrating that we don't always agree on certain topics. It is frustrating to me when people criticize other religions or come across as if they know everything about God. Our study this Sunday felt more 2 sided rather than open minded. We also won't be able to teach him again before I go home because of his schedule.

We cannot learn more about one another and come together if there is contention. We cannot love our neighbor if we look for the ways that they "are wrong."

Elder Uchtdorf said, "We rarely find something we are not looking for."

Jesus taught, “Seek, and ye shall find.”

Because of this experience, I want to be better at looking for the good in people. Looking for similarities instead of differences.
