Sick Then SLAY

Happy Monday, everyone!

Today's email is a little longer than normal but I have some experiences that I would love to share with you.

I got sick so the beginning of the week was kind of slow but I was able to recover quickly. Thankfully, just in time for Halloween. We got to spend it with Nan slaughter, who makes 500 donuts each year and fries them in her driveway for the tricker treaters. We spent about 5 hours rolling and cutting the dough, which was a really fun way for us, as missionaries, to spend Halloween. Btw hope u all had the spookiest time and had cool, funny costumes!

On Saturday, we helped with a soup and service activity that the stake relief society put on. There were many different stations to help out at. I chose to work on the "Songea station". There we got to write letters to children in Songea. You could read a little bio about them. While reading, I got choked up because of how amazing these children are and the hardship they have been through. It was a good reminder that we are blessed with so much, especially in America! After, we had a blitz with the STLs. Sister Beecher came with me. We did some contacts and knocked a little. We almost got chased out of the neighborhood by a MEANIE!! We were just inviting people to the nativity event in Bellevue, Which is a fun, free holiday event happening in December. The guy told us to leave and that he would watch us to make sure we left the neighborhood. He did in fact watch us and as we were leaving. We had to walk further into the neighborhood to get to our car, so I was scared that he would come after us!!! That was fun... I mean rejection is sort of common here but that was a new level.Sick After, we had dinner with the Taylor's. I love them. We told them about our cool experiences from the day and overall. It was a rewarding day to be a missionary.

Sunday was awesome too. For the second hour of church we attended the Sunday school class for recent converts. It was amazing to be in a class like that. The spirit was so strong and these new members of the church have amazing stories. I have been blessed to be with sweet friend Paulina again. The church has blessed her life. She is a great example to me and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it all with her.

I will miss experiences like this when I am home. Things for me are becoming more bitter sweet as I wrap up my mission in the coming weeks.
