Everybody & Their DAWG

Image
Yo this week was CRAZY!  Tuesday we packed up Sister Rush and said some final goodbyes then she left me on Wednesday! That was rude but I know her family is so happy to have her home!!!  Thursday and Friday I was in THE QUAD with Sister Bartruff, Alldredge, and Allfrey!! It was honestly so fun. We brought my mattress over from our apartment and I slept on the floor between all the beds so there are some funny pictures from that. All of them are so funny and they had me cracked up the whole time. Im so thankful they will be staying in my zone!!!!!  TRANSFERS:  I picked up my new comp Sister Hatt!!! She is from Clinton, Utah so we have some things in common relating to that which is fun!   Saw everybody and their dawg at transfers!! (Side note everybody has a dog in washington and I LOVE IT) Anyways, it was so good to see so many friends at transfers! One of my friends from the MTC was reassigned to this mission and arrived this week. I didn't know ...

Cops & Goodbyes

Monday night we had the craziest missionary opportunity!!!!!!  Get this. Pday ends last Monday at 6. Sister Rush and I are the last set of missionaries that left the stake center. There is a long driveway to enter/ leave the church. Walking towards us, as we are leaving, is a man. THEN, we met Don. We rolled down the window and asked if he needed help. To shorten things up, he had been walking around homeless for 2 days and was looking for someone who had resources to a homeless shelter. He thought our church would have something for him. We told him we could call the cops and make sure he got the resources he needed. While we were on the line waiting for non-emergency help, he asked us lots of questions! It was a really cool opportunity to share a message with him and provide him comfort. We gave him a Book of Mormon and 2 pamphlets in hopes he would find those helpful. After the police got there, we told him to contact us if he was interested then we left. 20 minutes later we got...

Well this week flew by. Im starting to become quite the professional gardener with all the weeding we do! I am seriously LOVING all the opportunities to serve here. Its so cute how all the old ladies are just so grateful for the small things we get to do for them. Every week just gets better as I get to know them more. All of them have a good sense of humor so im always gettin cracked up when we visit them!!  It was Mckenna's bday this week so that was fun to get to talk with my family an extra day!!!  Another Leigh visit in the books!!! We have been slowly getting into teaching her about the gospel! She asks us lots of questions and we pray with her. Im so glad our visits are continuing to go well  We had our monthly dinner at the Davis' on Sunday and it was so fun! They are really GOOD people and I admire how giving they are!!  Funny moments:  "Imagine looking at your new born baby and thinking im gonna name him Dave" said my companion... I proceeded to t...

Lit 4 Spit

Had my first "Seattle Spit"! (If someone doesn't know what that means, it's basically just rain that feels misty.) Moral of the story, it was awesome. Although...definitely feeling the gloomy weather so we hopped on that Vitamin D grind this week. Wednesday we went to the Seattle Temple! It was so fun to go for a drive out of our area. We went to the Johnson's house for dinner. I LOVE THEM!!  Lots of visits again this week and guess what WE MADE A FRIEND!! Leigh was a member referral. She is a really sweet lady who is experiencing some really difficult personal challenges right now. Leigh is also Christian so we get to talk a lot about Christ with her. Even with this hard thing she is going through, she kept telling us ".. but I know God's got me." I admire that kind of faith!! I feel so grateful that she is willing to let us visit with her. We hope to ease into teaching her more about what we believe but right now she needs a lot of love. Pray for L...
