Spooked In Every Way

Image
Yo this week was WILD!  Transfers AND Halloween coming up this week has me spooked!!! So pumped for Halloween because it has been giving us so many good missionary opportunities! We had a community Halloween party hosted at our ward building on Saturday so we got to invite so many new people! We helped set up and take down the whole thing which was lots of fun and had me DEAD so i slept like a rock that night.  I've had 100 melt downs about what could possibly happen this week with transfers and its killing me not knowing if I will move out of this area or what! I find out a little more about what will happen tomorrow!! (all my emotions rn) Don't worry most of my melt downs are just me assuming the most outrageous transfer news possible and then telling Sister Hatt that I'm going to die. This is not the case. I will be fine. So dont worry quite yet, all is well currently, I just love this area, my ward, and Sister Hatt so I would be perfectly content staying her...

Sus

HAPPY MONDAY!!!  Got to go to the temple on Friday with friends and it was SO fun! We grubbed at cafe rio after and this dude was tryna get our church address but it was a little sus how bad he wanted it so we are gonna send the Elders his way Funny story from this week! I was on an exchange with the stls and a car of boys asked for our numbers. It was a pretty funny interaction telling them how we are on missions and we don't date for a couple years Anyway enough with the weird things that happened... this week so awesome! Sister Hatt and I are bffs!!! We get cracked up about stuff all the time and I feel so grateful that she is my companion, the transfer is flying by so im gettin a wee bit nervous that change could be coming my way. However, I know that whatever happens will be for a reason and it will help me learn and grow!!!  As I have been more immersed in the scriptures on my mission, I have found so much joy through reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon! I...

Wut The Beans

How is it Monday?! Weeks have been flyin by! In a couple days, I'll hit 3 months as a missionary.  This week was so chaotic but I loved it!! We have a detailed planning session for our weeks on Tuesdays and normally we stick pretty closely with what we plan. Instead, practically everyday got flipped upside down,  but IT WAS FUN!!!  We've been "heart attacking" (nice notes that are heart shaped) people's doors in our spare time recently! We had the most outrageous thing happen at one house... First of all, picture Sister Hatt and I attempting to be ninjas in the dark. Quick side note, most of the houses have super long driveways in this area. As Sister Hatt and I began the trek up to this ladys door, we passed a large gate which was open. Then we got to the ladys door and her lights are MOTION SENSORED, which was horrifying while in the act of performing sneaky service. Anyways, we quickly put the hearts on her door and then we both scurried away. WELL GUESS WHAT...

Serving In Our Ward In Cottage Lake

Hi, My name is Scott Davis and your daughter is serving in our ward.  For the past many years my wife and I host a dinner at our home once a month on Sunday to mostly have the widows and single men a place to gather and enjoy food and company.  (Not a dating program).  About 3 years ago we felt an impression to invite the full time missionaries as we would have several less active members attend.  So the missionaries have been attending each of our monthly dinners.  My wife and I have set the dinner up that we provide all of the food and we take care of all the dishes so that each person doesn’t need to bring anything and just come and enjoy being together.  So each month those who attend will ask if they can bring anything, but we always say just come.  And after dinner several would ask if they could help with the dishes but we always politely said we will take care of them.  That is where your daughter comes in to the story and why I am writing...

LIT

Image
Quite literally had to get LIT this week! Its been getting dark pretty fast. With the combination of trees blocking any ounce of light and Washington having almost ZERO street lights...it is quite dark at night. Flashlights have become my best friend. Gone are the days that you can see one step infront of you past 7pm,  makes for fun contacting at night in the woods too!!  This week I've been loving the song "Send Me" from the 2022 youth album! Part of the song says, "You have my heart. You have my hands. I think I'm ready so let me try. Here am I. Send me." I like to apply those lyrics to myself as a missionary. I definitely have a lot I can improve on so I love the idea of giving my imperfect heart and hands to God. He can put them to use in a way that I cannot imagine! In the few months I've been on my mission, I've already seen many blessings and miracles that come from giving your all to God. He has truly magnified my efforts and shown me that b...

CONFERENCE CITY

Image
This week was so fun! Quick recap: Loved zone council, zone conference, and new missionary training pt 2!! Meetings = friends so I LOVE them! Plus... GENERAL CONFERENCE    I had the weirdest experience. Sister Hatt and I were driving home for the night after our last appointment. We passed a bus stop that this lady was standing at. I had the thought that we needed to stop and give a Book of Mormon to her but it was late and super random so I kept fighting myself about it the rest of the ride home. I knew I would regret it if we didnt turn back so before our last turn to get back home, I finally told Sister Hatt. Luckily she was totally on board with my crazy idea and the lady at the bus stop was still there! We were able to talk with her for a little about the Book of Mormon and the bible before she got on the bus. Although we may never see the bus stop lady ever again, it was a good experience for us to talk with her and hopefully have made her feel loved!!!  We wat...
